Imagine your Sewing Wardrobe being filled with "dress-ups!"

Remember when you were younger and you played dress ups. So much fun! Some clothes were evening wear, clothes from past special occasions, outfits made for Book Week..... bright fabric, embellished, fancy and most of all, exciting.

Imagination plus an assortment of different clothes, a mirror and time. Part of the fun was imagining the places you would go.

No one had a box of plain practical clothes to play with!

We all need the basics to support the clothes we want to wear. Basics are the platform on which the Wardrobe stands.

When was the last time you felt excited about something you made?

After making your basic pieces.....go into your fabric and pattern stash and see what is waiting patiently to be made.

I know! What's the point of making a glamorous dress if there isn't an occasion to wear it to?

I remember when I was working rather long hours and wondering if I would ever go to the Opera! I decided to take small steps anyway! I started by listening to 100 of the best Opera songs on CD when I was home. I started to imagine what I would wear. The family started singing along to the Opera CD that probably was played more than was necessary!

I made clothes to wear to the Opera.

Eventually we went to the Opera.

Madame Butterfly.

It was fabulous.

If you don't take some small steps to realise your dreams, then life can become quite hard to bear.

Don't forget the dreams of your childhood. Don't forget the fabric and patterns that you fell in love with.

They're waiting for the child in you to play and create and maybe even wear. Then it's ready when the time comes, to wear to a place you want to go.

Venture into your Fabric and Pattern Stash... rediscover your first loves.
