There is a season, turn, turn, turn.
And a time to every purpose under heaven.
A time to gain, a time to lose.
A time to rend, a time to sew.
A time for love, a time for hate.
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late.
The verse is quoted from
"Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)" — is a song written by Pete Seeger in the late 1950s. The lyrics are a quote from the Bible book of Ecclesiastes.
Time is valuable and how we use our time is up to us!
Sometimes time is wasted and at other times goals are achieved. Work, leisure, sleep...3 x 8 hours.
Shopping is an activity that we need to do to enable us to eat and clothe ourselves.
Purchasing Food is a regular activity for me. I have a family who need to eat! As the grocery prices have risen I have changed how I shop and cook! I don't make a lot of exotic recipes anymore. I make simple, healthy, tasty food with in-season ingredients. I don't spend all day in the kitchen because I just don't want to use my time this way anymore. I used to cook three different meals for one meal sitting to suit individual tastes (fussy eaters). Now I like simple cooking so I have more time for my other activities! Thankfully the fussy eaters are happy to work in with this strategy!
My pantry is no longer overflowing. Stock rotation no longer necessary. I stopped buying canned chickpeas everytime I shopped! Our family is eating the food I purchase.
Let's talk about Fabric! I don't buy Fabric just because it's on sale. I have to love it. Sometimes I will hold Fabric and walk around the Fabric shop and get to know it...I touch it....consider how much I am attached to it. The last decider is: "Will I cut and sew it up this week?" If I just want to add it to my collection for "a just in case I need it"..I don't buy it!
Simplicity is the key. Adjusting our schedule is possible. What is using up your valuable time? What changes can you make that will give you more "me time"? With more "me time" you will be able to actually have more time to sew!
Have a listen to the Byrd's song while you consider your priorities and just one change you can make today!
